Me and Forestry recently talked and decided that we would like to coach someone on spectro. Thus we are searching for a volunteer.
There are few requirements:
The person need to speak English fluently, because the trainings would be made via Skype/Google Hangouts.
Some committment/patience is required, reading of the most important guides on forum and watching Kroma's youtube channel will be a part of the course. The person must be prepared to spend more time on other activities than playing itself.
We'd like the player to have at least 10 level, but this requirement is not strict, because we are confident to be able to raise anyone to at least 15 level.
And the last, but not the least, the trainee must be well mannered.
If anyone would like us to take him into consideration, they should respond in this thread and tell something about him- or herself. JoeChen | 2014-08-28 02:19:50 |
I like this line:

and this:

With pleasure would go for an internship, but alas, I do not know English.
I would happily join, But due to lack of microphone jack in my pc, I wont be able to voice chat anymore. Only typing!! that doesn't suit you guys Claudob | 2014-08-28 15:52:27 |
And I have a microphone.
AtomOfUniverse | 2014-08-28 20:38:58 |
DKill, speaking is faster than typing and there is much to be said in between the moves. Plus, in our last conversation you made an impression on me, that you lack of patience :P .
Claudob, you don't need to know English perfectly, but just enough that we understand each other and are able to share thoughts about the game :) . FORESTRY | 2014-08-28 23:17:44 |
@Dkill, well, yeah, we really need to use microphone, cant type fast enough for all the possibilities and discussion.
@Claudob, you are writing in English and you dont know English? StephanieF | 2014-08-29 00:14:12 |
Yes, love letters or better said love-novels actually ...not sure if he has a chinese girl too ...
He understands nothing, but is very fast with Google-translate...for the game it´s enough maybe, and he will learn with time...take him and give him a chance with a bit patience to him!
Okay.. Anyway I would like to be opponent of your trainee whenever possible. (Whenever am online)

And just to add, i find it interesting to see how other players decision making works... sometimes a great tactical decision can at the same time a huge strategical blunder that one doesnt notice but is apparent to other... same goes for killing timings or openers, etc... sometimes theres 2 or more strategical routes that are seemingly equally valid, but due to so many factors involved, mere individual humans cant grasp the full complexity
tldr, learning different ways of thinking makes one a stronger player Tramontana | 2014-08-29 09:42:13 |

tldr, learning different ways of thinking makes one a stronger player Just clicking on available cards in random order - all players are using that way. This game is all about luck.
FORESTRY | 2014-08-29 19:38:58 |
Then i guess high leveled players must have a huge ammount of luck, they should play the lottery!

Perhaps you could elaborate a little more on what it is to be coached, what is expected, to have an idea for what the volunteer might be volunteering.

Perhaps you could elaborate a little more on what it is to be coached, what is expected, to have an idea for what the volunteer might be volunteering. Turn per turn decision making is what we would do over skype... open double w3 into f10? rather do w5 into griffins?... we have F10 and 12, that means opponent has F11, what do we do to counter that timing?... etc.
The apprentice could have specific questions that would be adressed...
Basicly needs to be interested in learning and not being a douchebag, thats about it. Eurydice | 2014-09-01 16:38:20 |
Thank you for elaborating a little more. I hope the games will be training, seems a little unfair to an opponent to be playing someone with a coach behind them.
StephanieF | 2014-09-01 17:18:41 |
It´s actually more unfair to play as JoeChen or Eurydice, which we call Alts...but there´s a blacklist to balance all these unfairnesses!
Who is coaching? You Forestry? And then Atoms will be also there... you will lose all games... "Your time is over!"
Tiapoka | 2014-09-01 17:58:22 |
I'd be happy to be coached. My english is fluent and I have no technical issues with my computer. Currently I'm lvl 12, steadily between 10-14.

I guess for girls it's free, cause

Well probably have to take turns coaching, otherwise it can get pretty chaotic
Me and atoms probably have different styles, but i wouldnt know exactly. what they are... i think my style is more volatile, trying a bit odd and risky strategies, while atoms is more solid. FORESTRY | 2014-09-01 21:53:34 |

Tiapoka is officially accepted :) . Beware of the new growing power!
Tiapoka | 2014-09-03 07:45:19 |
Thanks for the opportunity! I very much enjoyed the training :)
very nice initiative interesting to see how it turns out srbhkshk | 2014-09-04 15:28:07 |
The initiative seems to be interesting enough but I have this feeling that the style you play with is probably as important as how well you play, There are level ~35guys who just can't win against me and there are level ~10 guys who always end up beating me, so It'd be interesting to see what happens when someone coaches someone else with a different style, is it that we get someone with the good points of both or just a confused soul who is neither here nor there.
Arganat | 2014-09-04 15:28:30 |
what a funny funny topic. sorry that I do not speak English *crunching popcorn*
the word "забавно" is not translated

Yes definitely, theres very specific high ranking players i tend to harvest exp from... only to redistribute that same exp i gained to some random lvl 10 which i cannot read his strategy and miserably lose to a strange timing...
I could "teach" and learn at the same time by "coaching" someone my own level or higher. FORESTRY | 2014-09-05 02:54:00 |
And ive been absent from sessions, cause its been working hours and different time zone, friday thru tuesday i have less difficulty.
Wavelength | 2014-09-05 08:08:36 |
Yes definitely, theres very specific high ranking players i tend to harvest exp from I feel so used! Seriously though, I look forward to seeing or hearing some updates on the tutoring (tutellage?) - it does seem like a good initiative.

FORESTRY/ Atoms / Tiapoka it would be lovely if you guys could post regular updates about how it went or anything else that you found interesting or how many games you guys lost because the other guy had dragon and you had elven healers |
