Any news on the progress of Astral Heroes?
Taking look at screenshot, There is End Turn button. I wonder if the mechanism works as Astral Masters or Turn-By-Turn ? It looks like astral masters but not sure. Cooler | 2015-06-01 13:11:23 |

Yes, since the game is derived from Astral Masters - it works the same way. There are some differences: - you cannot sacrifice cards - if you have no more cards in you hand, you can spend 2 power points on "Mana Storm" and get one card and deal some damage (some decks in AM leads to huge power values with no cards in hand and this was extremely boring).
Listen to the cool tune here. Its combat1.ogg probably.

I presume by "you cannot sacrifice cards" your Astral power simply ticks up one per turn? In that case, I predict the game will actually be less hand management based as AM was. That's probably an advantage since hand management was really hard in AM and although many would love the challenge of that mechanic, it would likely be frustrating for new players.
The "Mana Storm" mechanic is interesting, presumably to nerf hand burn since I'm going to guess to compensate for lack of sacrifice, starting hand size is smaller. I am wondering if hand burn strategies would end up mostly forced to stick to effects like Inquisitor (which although it burned the hand in AM, its role was actually to remove potential spell threats and heavy sweeps). [For those unfamiliar with Astral Masters, Inquisitor when summoned would remove 2 spells randomly from the opponent's hand; this was automated and you did not see what spells were removed, only if cards were taken out of the hand.]

Yes (but it's also affected by spells, of course).

Yes, 1-st player starts with 4 cards in hand and 2-nd starts with one special card which gives 1 free mana and can't be replaced.
Other differences from AM: - "Tournament mode" is replaced by "Draft mode", i.e. there are no other kind of mini-tournaments than Draft, and these Drafts are for 4 players only. But there is no need to wait for exactly 4 players: free slots are filled by AI bots. You can also play simple duels (in both classic and custom modes) against AI bots like with human players. - You don't have all cards available from the beginning, you start with limited set of cards and unlock new cards as you progress through the game (although, deck cost is still limited and only 2-colors decks are permitted). I really like the thought put into this, because a lot of issues in the first game are addressed with this setup and it will promote deck variety! I know you won't spoil too much so I won't pry, but I'm definitely excited for this game! Cooler | 2015-09-08 20:46:40 |

Yes, drafts are sweet, but for experienced players! :) All cards are available, no deck cost limit - but it's pretty difficult! I remember lots of "RT +1!!!!" spam in AM tournament chat channel :) Another issue was early exits - so someone don't have opponent and final reward is lower. In AH any dropped player is also replaced with bot, so each draft goes to the end (unless there are no human players anymore :-)
Btw, is there any update on the expected release date? (Even Beta or Alpha release) CyberneticPony | 2015-09-09 17:48:31 |
Btw, is there any update on the expected release date? (Even Beta or Alpha release) I find it's better not to press developers for dates; because otherwise they may rush out a poorer product.

Btw, is there any update on the expected release date? (Even Beta or Alpha release) Yes, we're going to launch open beta not later than Dec-1. We were too slow during the first half of this year due to lack of UI graphics, but now key assets are almost ready and development speed is pretty good. So I don't expect more delays. Actually, I expect it will be even earlier. Modified by Cooler on 2015-09-09 17:51:48 CyberneticPony | 2015-09-09 23:16:30 |

The main thing to not forget to remember about the start of the beta on this forum! ;)
