Hello, i am a bit frustrated and i want to know if this happens to other people.
I havent played for some months and i tried my luck (i am not a good player, but i have some understanding in general strategy)
Does it happen to you sometimes you want to smash the pc, because everything goes freaking wrong?
I was in 4-5 games with terrible deck. I know one good player good utilize it better, but i am talking about facts 1) i couldnt plan my power spending at all, because i couldnt "change" drastically my powers, (like fire priest or something) so i couldnt structure a plan, (if your powers from the start aint enough to summon something and you have only 1 monster to summon, and the opponent has a troll or something, i cant be picky for the glory of "future rounds" cause there will be no next rounds)
Somehow i managed all my games no heal, no elven priest, no fire priest, not nukes besides air 3
while opponent is like hydra/earth 11, cyclone, armegedon, stone raine, flame wave. More like #$% me, give me some break, give me something
Ever feel your opponent has a better comparative to yours, deck? GrimJ0ker | 2015-06-20 16:22:55 |
1) vs vliashchuk ---> bad healing cards (hard board synergy, last h3 winner move because d8) 2) vs BlackKraken --->strong defense with no synergic hand (a6 bluff to win the game) 3) vs PutnikAda ---> countering double tornado + double armageddon 4) vs Plynx ---> waiting for the right tornado and countering t4 synergy 5) vs HGWINS ---> very hard match vs good killing golem synergy + white elephant
There is always a way to win a game, especially when the opponent doesn't play all the moves in the most correct way possible or when you do it.

I understand where you're coming from, because I experienced this kind of thing when I was a lower level player, and even still do. I've had some terrible runs in tournaments!
I have found however at our sort of level, the psychology matters more than the actual hands being dealt a lot of the time; even with "bad hands" there are many possible plays that can still allow you to win games.
I find that if you have a loss streak of 2-3 games, it is a good time to take a break from the game, and just try again tomorrow. This will make you feel more neutral when you reenter the game, and will stop making you rush decisions or make misplays from fears that have stuck from previous games.
As you play more games and improve, this will get occur less and less in Spectromancer.

Exactly, so true! In additon, the psychology matters are important aside from bad hands. I think that one think that higher players seperates from lower players is that they don't panick when their life is low. Lower level players panic and don't choose the best possible move due to that. Take a look at some of plynxes games and notice how - with nerves of steel - he puts a creature in an unblocked slot to continue putting pressure even though he faces 1-2 unblocked creatures himself. He just KNOWS that he cannot die the next couple of turns and that continue attacking is the best option. I could show you several situations where i am sure that 90% of the players would switch to defend mode bevause they get afraid, while he just continues the pressuring the opponent. This is just one aspect of course.

... that doesn't mean that you should always attack, of course. At least always look out for the obvious threats like e6,a6, ill3 etc. when deciding if blocking is necessary or not.

I know what you guys try to say. Ofc you can explore more optimal options as you are improving your performance. It is just i can make you feel frustrated, when you have to structure a plan ine 6-7 turns, only to get counter by 1 card or something

To be honest this is one of the few multiplayer games where I don't get frustrated! If an opponent reveals a card that I thought he didn't have I might roll my eyes, throw my hands up in the air, and laugh sardonically, but that's about the extent of it. A great majority of the time, I feel like there was a path to victory that I missed, so I have no one to blame but myself (as opposed to an RNG, a server going down, or inept teammates), and losing because you tried hard but it just wasn't enough isn't such a bad feeling.
I'm not saying that there won't be a few literally unwinnable games (assuming your opponent plays well), but they are so incredibly rare that they shouldn't lead to frustration, or at least don't for me.

Who cares? You can use Armageddon or alternatively, Auto Search when your life becomes too messy.
