I can advise you to learn Russian language and watch Kroma VODs.
As mentioned before in some other topic, i think you should prepare for m3 to kill soon, unlike for blood3 because you may not use vampire mana by the time you get it, or use it insufficiently, like many unblocked creatures for you and a lot of accumulated mana with blood8 for blood player may not work out for the vamp player. Golem(w4) may be absoulutely crucial in a matchup against mecha, because it would be unaffected by most of the impacts of the mecha class. I would prepare also for mecha4 because it is pretty dangerous after 3-4 turns of standing still. Forest sprites are absolute losers, if you think about the mecha class cards, all of them are good counters against e3 especially m5. Personally i would try to avoid dragon+m7 combos, because even in a winning board presence situtation, that combo may absolutely turn it around(basically that is the main idea behind killing m3 fast). Countering a single m7 may work out strategy-wise like playing around death7 if that says something(wait for opponent to play it before coming out with critical creatures of your own or make moves which would make it unsufficient, like playing cards with higher then 19 life or something). I think one of the key aspects of spectro is trying to avoid blocking and going for aggressive agenda as soon as possible, and i think starters make the big mistakes by trying to kill what should just be avoided, or try to block something which is unnecessary. In this respect mecha is very good at exploiting such mistakes and giving an edge at board control ( and more effective way of killing the creatures then the opponent may have. I also think that phoenix as a card may be more sufficient against mecha then against many other classes, beacuse the weakness of mecha is that it lacks direct life damaging options and also a7 may be very sufficient at blocking cards like m5-m6-m8, which are designed to stay for long and win the opposing slot, which is impossible against phoenix as long as kept immortal. Mentioning m6, i would recoomend avoiding slow strategies, like basing your main focus on summoning elementals, because the pace at which m6 causes damage to elementals just simply outpace the attack point hoarding of elementals. So keep your options open to kill either m3,4 or 6,( i think it is basically a universal advice to kill the creatures the fastest of which are giving your opponent high and regular benefits) try find an effective way to block m8(phoenix, wall of reflection, turtle etc) and synchronise your board to countering the big damage dealers (7,8) by placing cards which may not die after the blow, or come up with strategy which would result in the opponent's side a loss of turn.
Hi Tendou, that was an excellent post, i think. Regarding Ice Golem, i still agree with you that it is a good card againstmech, but sunyata is right: one has to avoid at all costs that the opponent is able to put a m6in front of it. So timing when to cast it is important. Btw, one of you statements is soo true, i figured that out myself a few weeks ago andand it helped me to climb from lev. 20-22 to 25-30. Who knows what statement i mean? ;-)
Who knows what statement i mean? ;-)
...Of course it was this: I think one of the key aspects of spectro is trying to avoid blocking and going for aggressive agenda as soon as possible, and i think starters make the big mistakes by trying to kill what should just be avoided, or try to block something which is unnecessary.Rush is the only way. :Pbtw. you were 25-30 like months ago. What lvl 20-22?
Or ist it just because a lot of top players left? ;-)
@Grim: If you are in the mood to write some stuff, what is your basic strategy against Mech? What are the important things to consider in that matchup?
