Just a couple questions.
First, could somebody tell me what the banned combo's are?
And second, is there anywhere that shows all the cards and discriptions? A link would be great.
Thanks!

Really no reason for it to be on the ban list.

don't get angry when you get beat by something, learn from it. otherwise you will have no fun playing.

I don't think Dark was getting angry or anything, but at any rate, that's good advice from Erik (HeadphonesGirl)... with the extremely rare exception of a ridiculously unbalanced draw, most games are winnable, and most strategies are beatable; you just need to figure out how. Astral Guard in particular has a ton of counters, many of which are in the Fire line, which you can pump even if your opponent is Weaknessing your ass.

Well I didn't want to make a super long rant about it, just was venting. I had no infero and my opponent had earth2, so it was immpossible for me to kill. I guess I should have planned further ahead like I do now any time I see somebody not use any water by 8-10.
Also a quick question, how do you have the level you are show next to your name on the forum? Thanks!

Yes, exactly. That's something I didn't learn until a higher level. Good luck with the game.

btw is it just me, or you also noticed that water12 playes VERY rare in the high levels, comparing to low ones?
| garcia1000 | 2010-01-14 08:28:15 |
That's because high level players don't splurge all their mana like a shopaholic at the alcohol store

A problem with astral gaurd is that the worst thing that will happen is you die to quickly, and you often need the healing from water 6 and water 10 (or just another big creature to block). If you live long enough, you know he will win for you..... Also, I personally never plan from the beginning of the game to use astral gaurd, and only use him if I just happen to be close to 12 water mana and see the situation right (or to get an opponent to waste tornado or a board clear).

I usually only plan towards astral guard if I have a high water level, earth 2, fire 9, and control 6. Control 2 isn't that good because the other danger of astral guard is that you have to heal it every turn and you get rushed down by a bunch of garbage. control 6 buys you one free blocker, which is good.

this reminds me that every other "pro" starcraft player (and i guess every other strategy game) from local network usualy played it with following strategy:
1) block everything ith canons
2) built the most expensive units (like mass carriers)
3) ????
4) win
but better players also try to use smaller units, and do it well, cause know when and how to use it
