It contains 3 new mage types, a new campaign mode, and an improved online Arena with many new features.
You can install it over previous one to keep it registered or install a fresh copy and use your activation code to unlock it.

Congrats on the release! This was pretty quick. Sorry I didn't get around to a comprehensive list of translation errors; I'll try to do that sometime in the future. I think I did manage to post a few of the catches in the Beta threads, though. In this release, can you go back to the Intermediate League of Heroes after beating it? EDIT: One other question. In the Beta, if you were playing the Expansion, you could only play against other people playing the Expansion. I'm guessing that with the official release, you can, for example, play as a Sorcerer against someone who can only play as the original six classes. Is that correct? My license has become invalid as well. I had purchased the game from the website directly (going through 'plimus' for payment) in 2008 for $19.95.
I've emailed support just now as well.
But that should confirm that the customer's distribution method is not necessarily connected to the failure of activation. I did not buy the $10 original nor buy through steam. Did anybody's license work without action from the administrators?

No, I meant that all the unlocked functionality will remain unlocked (6 mage types, full campaign etc).
But to access the expansion's functionality you'll need to purchase an expansion activation code.

the greenhouse update) and none of the expansion changes had taken
effect yet. I didn't see anyone with anyone with the new classes, and
Air-4 was still healing based on total Earth mana instead of being

Due to immaculate timing (tm) I bought Spectromancer 1.03 on Impulse feb. 28th. Goooooood timing.
Anyway, how would I go about getting the expansion? The card battles are rather fun. :)
Will it be on impulse? I do prefer to use credit cards in as few locations as possible.

No it isn't. You're wrong. A lot of retail games with expansion packs use the same pricing system (but with much higher numbers). When the original game comes out, it's $40-$50. Expansions run $20-$30. And packs that come out which include everything are usually $40-$60. It costs more to buy everything separately, which is reasonable, because you're paying to have the game the entire time, whereas people who buy it later were probably on the fence to begin with. I really applaud everyone involved in this pricing structure. $10 is completely fair, even generous. And $20 for the whole pack is smart.

I will pay this $10 for the expansion just because i like the game and i have no choice.
But for me - it is total absurd, that the game itself costs as much as an expansion to it. It's just impossible, when you buy a car for $10k and then u buy winter wheels to it for same $10k... Ridiculous.
$5 is fair enough, $6, $7, even $9!! But not same as core game.

from what i've read the base game costed 20$ originally, it's 10$ now cause the nice mr. developer agreed for a price drop due to aging the expansion is still fresh, so don't expect it to be cheaper..yet, sure i'll probably propose to drop it to some 6-7$, but it's too early still, and Cooler was already nice enough to drop the base price That's enough to satisfy me ^_^

To Shakespeare - if it says your install file is corrupt then you probably just had a download error, simply try to download the file again, your money should not be lost since you bought the activation code, not the download, and that should still work.

However, when I go to game screen there are NO cards showing up on my screen. The top left buttons (Main Menu, Surrender, etc) all work, but the bottom half of screen is flat Gray, where my cards SHOULD be. Tried a new Campaign, same thing. Restarted the game. Restarted my computer. Same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I dunno who to contact otherwise. Using VISTA on only 15 month old laptop.

I had a similar issue where duels wouldn't start after I installed the new build. I simply came back to this site, downloaded it again (using IE this time instead of Firefox), and installed it right on top of the original download. After re-installing, it worked perfectly. Hopefully the same will work for you.

Hey Wavelength, Appreciate the suggestion. I do use IE. But I downloaded again, Installed again, and still have same problem! I can not play the game any longer.... there are NO cards. Everything else... but the bottom left 1/3 of the screen is totally gray! I have looked around for a Tech Support but cannot find. I did install OVER my old game, so I would not lose my accumulated badges. The impression I get is that if I Uninstall Spectromancer and then download this, I will lose the old progress. But I wonder if that will be my only choice. Sucks to pay money and get aggravation....

An interesting observation about campaign. There is an opponent called Ashe. You can use a ritual (summon 5 creatures of 5 different powers) to defeat him or perform it afterward. That's what the story tells. It actually means that you either defeat him with the ritual right away or weaken him (combat) and perform it later (non playable event). But one of the new schools, sorcery, has no creatures at all. How are sorcerers supposed to defeat Ashe? Well, as for the gameplay part - it is simple, just defeat the opponent by usual means.
