Hi all, just wanted to say good bye to you all. I will not be playing Spectromancer anymore. First off, i have to concentrate on other stuff and secondly, the community pretty much seems to be dying. At least for me, almost all players i liked to play with are apparently gone or at least online very rarely (Wavelength, Mamoulian,SpectroStat, Forrestry, CyberneticPony, GrimJoker, Plynx, Whizard, Tendou) and there are only a few other level > 30 left. Its frustrating to login and only find level 10-22 players online and the forum is pretty much dead also. Spectro is a brilliant game, but without the community it simply isnt worth it. Good luck to you all! Modified by MikeBnDe on 2016-06-06 10:42:52 SpectroStat | 2016-06-06 08:05:01 |
Goodbye, friend. I have similar thoughts.

Hmmm, it's your call, but I don't understand why can't you play with other (lower) lvl players as well ... maybe even teach and drive them so that you're going to have some fun and "frineds" around again ... Anyway .. cheers! mm75

I will miss you MikeBnDe | 2016-06-06 21:13:04 |
I will miss you @wave: there is a reason why you are the first user mentioned in my post above :-) Your comments when we played were hilarious - it was so much fun playing and talking with you. Thanks for the games, wave. (the other user names are in no particular order). Maybe, just maybe, i will drop in in a few months and check if the community has grown again, who knows. But for now, i am definitely done. @filip: goodbye. I didn't mention you because you are one of the few high level players left. Enjoyed playing against you as well. It was meant to be a reply to ShadowofMordor, wrong quote. :)
It's fun to play lower lvl players and maybe teach them something, they also can give us a hard time and we can learn too from these games but in long term it's really important that a player could play regulary with others whose challenge him and inspire his game. I understand Mike's feelings this is one of the reason why I play much fewer recently. Also I still really enjoy the games I play and I'm still not No.1 so I have to go further. I really hope there'll be active players for a long time because this game is still the best.
Mike: It was nice to know you, we had lots of ggs. :) I think we'll see each other later (really hope it), I'll wait for you.

Farewell, Mike! You will be missed! You are among the best!
I've pretty much given up as well - I have too much going on right now to devote much time to gaming. I never played all that much anyway, & I never became very good at the game, but I enjoy Spectromancer very much & it is an excellent game. I still pop in to check out the Forum from time to time, but I have not logged-on in quite some time. I still play a few quick games here & there against the computer, but even those games have become few & far between. But it's still fun.
I'll miss all of you! It's been fun!

No need to say goodbye forever. Sometimes you can come back here.

If it's not worth it to sign in at random times hoping to find someone online, you can always try scheduling things with specific players. Make mondays Spectromancer Night, or something.

This is a great idea! I rarely log into Spectro these days, but would definitely join a lot if there were a scheduled time for high-level veterans to meet up and play (and it worked okay with my own schedule)!

As you can see, i check the forum from time to time. I think that the idea of a scheduled time is great. If the time would fit, i would join as well. So any suggestions when? What about on Sundays?

I've been away from the game for years. I'm super rusty, but I've been playing a lot of practice games against the Archmage AI this week. After 200 or so games, I'm finally beating him more than half the time again. :P
Ruby456 | 2016-07-27 18:37:17 |
